Titebond Solvent Based FRP

Titebond Solvent-Based FRP Adhesive is a versatile, high-quality adhesive designed for the installation of plywood, tileboard, FRP, pre-finished hardboard, gypsum wallboard and other paneling materials. It exceeds the ASTM C557 specification.  Titebond Solvent-Based FRP Adhesive provides excellent water-resistance and remains permanently flexible. It is easy to trowel and offers a 30-minute working time to allow precise placement of the working materials.

Application Temperature Above 50°F. for adhesive and substrates

Working Time 30 minutes (70°F./50%RH)

Method of Application Trowel or cartridge/caulking gun (Certain in-plant applications might also utilize extrusion.) Cutting, piecing and trimming should be done before applying mastic. Apply mastic to back of panel being installed. In trowel applications, a notched spreader with notches at least 3/16" wide,1/4" deep,1/2" center to center is recommended to insure adequate coverage. Maintain proper notch size by cleaning spreader frequently and by filing notches to proper depths after wear. (Too little adhesive will result in a poor bond.) For cartridge application, apply continuous bead around perimeter and 12" centers. Warped panels or out-of-plumb wall surfaces may have to be shored or braced for 6 to 8 hours until the adhesive has acquired initial set. NOTE: If panels are subjected to large temperature changes, a troweled application is recommended.

Cleanup Scrape off dried excess with a putty knife. Remove residue with mineral spirits or equivalent solvent. Follow solvent vendor’s precautions when using solvents. NOTE: Test solvent on an out-of-the-way area to make sure it will not affect the surface being cleaned.

Limitations

Not designed for continuous submersion. Do not adhere one non porous material to another as this will slow or prevent drying.

Do not allow eye contact or prolonged skin contact. Uncured product can cause eye or skin irritation. Prolonged or repeated overexposure to solvent in uncured product can cause central nervous system, eye, skin or respiratory system effects. First Aid: If dizziness or other adverse effects are experienced, move to fresh air; contact physician if discomfort persists. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting; contact physician immediately. If eye contact occurs, flush with water for 15 minutes; contact physician immediately. Wash skin contact areas with soap and water; contact physician if irritation persists.
